Search Keyword Feedback

This morning I found a few interesting search keywords.  For those of you not familiar with web site statistics, here's a basic explanation of keywords.  When your site is visited as a result of a search engine query, the words or phrases that generated the search results are tracked.  For example, "n150 plus" force usb boot OR unetbootin jolicloud 1.1.  My blog was in the search results and a few people came by to visit.

Just because someone finds my site doesn't mean they've found the answers they were searching for.  I was performing similar searches to those above just a couple of weeks ago.  Here's what I figured out.

I haven't had any success using UNetbootin on Jolicloud.  Has anyone else had this problem?  It's not a big deal because USB-ImageWriter and USB-Create work well enough.  The latter is a transitional package needed to get the Startup Disk Creator to work in Jolicloud.  The packages I discuss above were installed using the Synaptic Package Manager.

My Samsung N150 netbook fails to recognize certain usb memory sticks at boot.  For example, my MicroSD usb adapter is not recognized at boot on the N150.  It boots fine on other computers.  If I put the MicroSD chip in a multi card reader, it works on the N150.  There was a bit of frustration associated with this discovery.  When booting the N150 from USB I use an 8GB memory stick from Toshiba.   There are about 5 USB-something choices in the bios boot menu,  USB-HDD is the one you want for booting from USB.

Remoting still isn't working on the Cr-48 and I have found no noticeable difference following the change from the beta channel to the development channel.

Thanks for visiting.
